BIG DATA: Using Clinical and Business Information to Inform Decision Making Tuesday, January 24 5pm – 9pm Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Arboretum Center 155 E. Brush Hill Road, Elmhurst, IL On January 23, 2012 GCC HIMSS hosted an educational program titled “BIG DATA: Using Clinical and Business Information to Inform Decision Making”. Elmhurst Memorial Hospital hosted the program in its new conference center, which was an amazing venue for the event. The program was attended by over 120 GCC HIMSS members – one of the most highly attended programs in recent years! The objective of the program was to discuss how organizations can create an environment where information is readily available to inform and to improve clinical and business decision making. The program was a panel format where each panelist provided an overview of their organization’s approach to business intelligence and data management, followed by questions from the audience. Each of the panelists gave a different perspective on how information can be used to positively impact care, including: hospital inpatient / ACO, hospital affiliated physician group, hospital financial management, and ambulatory care / chronic disease management.
